Milk. Yogurt. Cheese.
Nearly everyone enjoys dairy, but few people know how it’s really produced. Why? Because the dairy industry has been hiding the truth—and with good reason.
After reading this article, the truth will no longer be hidden from you. Before I reveal it, however, a warning: what you’re about to learn is extremely disturbing and not for the fainthearted. If you don’t feel ready, I’ll give you three seconds to stop reading and stay in your comforting ignorance.

Since you’re still here, let’s uncover the truth—the truth about dairy.
The Truth About Dairy
Like most people, you probably assume that cows produce milk endlessly—so much that they don’t know what to do with it. You might even believe that this “excess” milk burdens their udders and that, unless we extract it, they’ll never find relief.
This, however, couldn’t be further from the truth.
Cows—like all female mammals—produce milk only during and after pregnancy. Why? To feed their babies, just as human mothers feed theirs, helping the young grow strong and healthy. This natural process allows cows to empty their udders and relieve any burden on their own.
In other words, cows aren’t helpless milk-producing machines. But the dairy industry has found a way to make them produce milk as frequently as possible: by forcibly impregnating them once a year.
Here’s how this process works:
First, workers jerk bulls off to collect their semen. Then, cows are placed in what the industry calls “rape racks”—devices that immobilize them—while workers insert one arm into the cow’s rectum and a long steel rod into her vagina to artificially inseminate her.

Sounds cruel and disgusting, right?
Well, the story doesn’t end there.
As we’ve already seen, cow’s milk is naturally meant for calves, not humans. But the dairy industry doesn’t give a damn about that. It wants the milk so it can sell it to us. To make that happen, right after a cow gives birth, the industry takes her babies away so that they can’t suck up her milk.
As you can imagine, this is deeply traumatic for both the mother and her babies, who cry for days after being separated. But, once again, the dairy industry doesn’t care. Its only concern is filling its pockets.

You might be wondering:
What happens next to the calves?
Male calves are immediately sent to the veal industry. You see, the dairy industry considers them useless by-products, since they cannot become pregnant and produce milk. So why spend money raising them when they can be sold for profit?
In the veal industry, male calves are confined in small stalls or tiny crates to immobilize them, sometimes with ropes or chains around their necks to restrict movement. The reason? To prevent their muscles from developing, which keeps their flesh extra tender. Terrified and frustrated, many of them lick each other’s faces for comfort. But within just a few days, they are killed and sold on the market, treated as nothing more than products.

What happens to the male calves is extremely disturbing, but the female calves have it even worse.
Once they reach sexual maturity, female calves are forcibly impregnated just like their mothers, have their babies stolen year after year, and are exploited for their milk every moment of their lives. And, when their milk production wanes, they are “thanked” for all their hard work by having their throats slit or by being shot in the head. This usually happens around the age of five, while their natural lifespan is about twenty-five years.
So let me ask you this:
Now that you know the truth, will you continue consuming dairy?
In other words, will you keep supporting the unnecessary exploitation, suffering, and murder of animals that dairy production entails? I say “unnecessary” because dairy products contain no nutrients that we can’t get from other foods—contrary to what the dairy industry wants us to believe. And considering that plant-based alternatives to milk, cheese, yogurt, and more are now readily available almost everywhere, what’s the need for consuming dairy products? There’s none.
When I learned the truth about dairy, I was so shocked that I never consumed it again. Since then, I’ve done everything I can to expose one of the cruelest industries in existence. My only question is: will you join me?
