Have you ever wondered why sociopaths tend to rule the world?
Well, here’s a simple explanation: Because our economic system rewards them with tremendous power.
Think about it: The people with the most social and political influence are usually the economic elites. Which makes perfect sense, since it’s money that makes our corrupt world go round.
And who exactly are the economic elites?
They are those who are the best at exploiting, manipulating and outcompeting other people. Those who are willing to step on others for their personal gain. Those who have no problem keeping billions of dollars for themselves, even when most people are struggling to make ends meet, and about a billion of them are going to bed hungry every night.
Simply put, they are those we call sociopaths.
And guess what? Those are the very people our society looks up to and considers successful. For they are the biggest winners of the competitive game called market economy.
Seen this way, sociopaths aren’t a social anomaly, as most people think. Rather, they are a natural outgrowth of the economic conditions they are placed in, wherein to succeed one is required to have or develop strong sociopathic traits. And unless those conditions are changed, sociopaths will keep on ruling the world.
